Posted 27th Oct, 2026

About the role

Beaulieu House is a children's residential home and short breaks service in Newport, Isle of Wight, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs (including non-verbal and pre-verbal individuals), health and medical needs, and behaviours of concern. This casual role offers flexible shifts across a 24-hour service, making it well suited to those seeking work around other commitments.

The service runs on a rolling rota across seven days, with shifts available at the following times: Early Shift (07:00–14:30), School Term Early Shift (07:00–11:00), Late Shift (14:15–21:45), and Night Shift (21:45–07:15). As a casual worker, you will be offered shifts as they arise, with no guaranteed minimum hours.

Day-to-day, the role involves supporting children and young people through their routines, personal care, activities, and social opportunities, always with a focus on independence, confidence, and positive experience. You will work closely with families, education providers, therapists, and other professionals, and maintain accurate records that reflect young people's achievements and progress.

This role includes:

  • Supporting young people with communication, daily living skills, and personal care in a child-centred way
  • Encouraging positive behaviour through therapeutic and proactive support approaches
  • Taking part in activities, outings, and social opportunities that build life skills
  • Working as part of a team alongside families, therapists, and education professionals
  • Keeping meaningful, accurate records that capture each young person's progress
