About the role
Beaulieu House is a children's home and short breaks service supporting children and young people with disabilities and behaviours that challenge. As a Night Support Worker, you will play an important role in ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported, and cared for throughout the night.
You will be part of a dedicated team working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for the young people in our care. The home operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where young people can develop independence, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
This role includes:
- Supporting young people to settle at bedtime and resettle if they wake during the night, providing personal care and emotional support where required
- Completing regular welfare checks and monitoring young people's wellbeing, responding appropriately to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, and medical needs
- Administering medication where trained and competent to do so, and working in line with children's care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
- Completing daily recordings, reports, and handovers, and undertaking household duties including cleaning, laundry, and preparing the home for the day team
- Assisting with audits, resource preparation, and other tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the service
This is a 28.5-hour permanent contract working waking night shifts, three nights per week. The rota includes weekends and bank holidays in line with the home's 24/7 operation.
For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit to the service, contact Richard Evans, Registered Manager, at richard.evans@iow.gov.uk or on 01983 533024. Applications must be submitted online before the closing date.
