About the role
Beaulieu House is a children's home and short breaks service supporting children and young people with disabilities and behaviours that challenge. This part-time Support Worker role offers the opportunity to provide genuine, lasting support to young people — helping them build life skills, develop independence, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
The service operates 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, running a responsive rota to meet the needs of young people and their families. As a Support Worker, you will contribute to a nurturing environment in line with the home's mission statement: "We nurture, care for and safeguard our children while supporting individuality and encouraging adventure." Activities have included visits to Legoland, Tapnell Farm, Isle of Wight Zoo, Blackgang Chine, Amazon World, and Marwell Zoo.
The rota includes early shifts (07:00–11:00 or 07:00–14:30) and late shifts (14:30–21:45), across a seven-day service. Stand By shifts form part of the contracted role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting young people with daily routines, personal care, medical needs, and accessing activities
- Acting as a Key Worker, contributing to care plans, reviews, and meetings
- Completing daily recordings and documentation to a consistently high standard
- Encouraging independence and the development of life skills through relationship-focused support
- Being proactive in sharing ideas to improve young people's quality of life

About You
Beaulieu House welcomes applications from candidates with a wide range of backgrounds and levels of experience. The team is committed to comprehensive training and ongoing development for all staff, whatever their starting point.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification or higher relevant to the sector (for example, Health and Social Care, Residential Care, or working with young people); equivalent qualifications will be considered and candidates are encouraged to make contact to discuss
- Have experience of, or a genuine interest in, supporting children and young people with disabilities or behaviours that challenge
- Be active, creative, and relationship-focused in their approach to support work
- Demonstrate the ability to complete documentation and daily recordings accurately
- Show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
