Posted 1st Oct, 2026

About the role

Beaulieu House is an Ofsted-rated Good children's residential and respite service in Newport, Isle of Wight, supporting children and young people with disabilities, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge. As Shift Supervisor, you will lead shifts and ensure every young person receives high-quality, person-centred care within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

The home operates 52 weeks a year on a responsive rota system, with staff receiving their rotas six weeks in advance. Shifts run as early (07:00–14:30) or late (14:15–22:00), covering a combination of early, late, weekend, and standby duties across a 37-hour week. Young people at Beaulieu House enjoy a wide range of activities — from visits to Legoland and Blackgang Chine to Amazon World and Marwell Zoo — and no two days look the same.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading shifts and providing guidance and support to the staff team, including coaching, role modelling, and supervision
  • Overseeing medication administration and supporting children and young people with daily routines, personal care, and medical needs
  • Acting as a Key Worker, contributing to care planning, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
  • Planning and facilitating engaging activities tailored to individual interests, and supporting young people to develop independence, life skills, and confidence
  • Completing records, reports, and documentation to a high standard, and participating in the on-call rota

For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit to Beaulieu House, contact Richard Evans, Registered Manager, at richard.evans@iow.gov.uk or on 01983 533024. Applications must be submitted online by the closing date of 14 October 2026.
