About the role
This is a Key Worker role at Haslemere Children's Home in Haringey, supporting children and young people with complex needs to achieve positive outcomes. Working within the Adolescent Mentalization-Based Integrative Therapy (AMBIT) model, you will plan, implement, and review personalised support plans that reflect each young person's wishes, needs, and goals.
The Haslemere residential team is an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate group committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for young people. The team works collaboratively with families, carers, external professionals, schools, health partners, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to each young person's care. Reflective practice and a supportive working culture are central to how the team operates.
Staff work shifts across a 24/7 rota, covering evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the children in the home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Helping young people develop essential life skills and supporting them through transitions
- Planning, implementing, and reviewing personalised support plans in line with the AMBIT model
- Producing accurate records and reports to a high standard
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and care standards are met at all times
- Supporting activities, trips, and appointments as part of the young person's day-to-day life

About You
This role calls for someone who can build trusting relationships with young people while working effectively within a multi-agency network. You will bring resilience, a commitment to trauma-informed and person-centred practice, and the flexibility that 24/7 residential care requires.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification
- Have experience of supporting young people, ideally within a residential or statutory setting
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build therapeutic relationships with young people
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding, diversity, autism, and the varying needs of young people
- Be proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a wider multi-agency network
- Be flexible enough to work shifts and support activities, trips, and appointments as required
