Posted 16th Sep, 2026

About the role

This part-time role combines day-to-day care within a family-based children's home setting with 1-to-1 outreach support for children and young people on the edge of care. Achieving for Children (AfC) is opening a new home in Old Windsor and expanding its outreach services, and this post sits at the centre of that development.

The role involves working across sites including Old Windsor, Teddington, and by 2026, Surbiton. You will provide personalised, nurturing care within the home while also working directly with children, young people, and families in the community. The team includes experienced professionals committed to delivering high-quality care and keeping children within their families wherever possible, with opportunities for growth and development as the service grows.

This role includes:

  • Providing day-to-day care within a family-based environment that promotes positive attachments and relationships
  • Working alongside professionals and families to understand each child's life experience and respond in ways that promote their opportunities and potential
  • Contributing to developing and maintaining a stimulating, nurturing home where children feel happy, cared for, and safe
  • Providing 1-to-1 outreach support to children, young people, and families in their own homes and in the community

This is a part-time post averaging 99 hours per month. Shifts are worked across seven days a week over the full year, including Christmas, New Year, and other bank holidays. A sleep-in allowance is included. The advertised salary is the full-time equivalent and will be pro-rated accordingly.
