About the role
This is a permanent, full-time role within Achieving for Children's Early Help service, working across Richmond and Kingston to deliver targeted support to children, young people and their families. Working under the guidance of a qualified social worker, you'll be based across a range of community settings including offices, family hubs and youth centres, operating within both early help and statutory frameworks.
As a Child and Family Help Practitioner, you'll work directly with families to complete whole-family assessments, develop outcome-focused plans, and coordinate multi-agency support through Team Around the Child (TAC). The role sits within a multi-agency network focused on preventing escalation and improving outcomes through timely, effective interventions.
This role includes:
- Completing whole-family assessments and developing clear, outcome-focused plans
- Acting as lead professional, coordinating multi-agency support through the Team Around the Child framework
- Delivering targeted interventions that reduce risk and promote independence
- Accurately recording all work and responding to safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Supporting families through escalation to statutory services where required

About You
You'll bring experience of working directly with children and families, with the skills to deliver outcome-focused support across a range of settings. You'll be organised, adaptable and able to manage your own workload, with a strong commitment to inclusive practice.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Level 4 qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience, in a relevant field
- Have experience working with children and families, including in contexts involving safeguarding concerns
- Be confident delivering 1:1 and group interventions
- Have experience completing assessments and working with multi-agency partners
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build effective professional relationships
- Have knowledge of Children's Services, safeguarding processes and relevant legislation
