About the role
This is a Residential Support Worker role based at a brand new Children's Residential Home in the London Borough of Brent, providing a safe, secure, and nurturing home for young people. You will join the home from the very beginning, helping to shape its culture and the way it delivers care.
You will provide direct care to children and support their individual needs in line with their care plans and the home's ethos. Respect, dignity, privacy, independence, and choice sit at the forefront of how the team works, and you'll be part of creating an environment where young people feel safe, respected, and heard.
This role includes:

- Working with children, their families, carers, and colleagues in a curious, courageous, and kind way
- Building rapport and trust with young people through consistent, empathetic support
The role covers evening, weekend, waking night, and sleep-in shifts. Candidates should be prepared for a varied rota that includes unsocial hours as a regular part of the working pattern.

About You
Brent is looking for someone who brings genuine commitment to working with young people, and who understands the challenges they may face. This role suits someone who is flexible, resilient, and ready to contribute to a new home from day one.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People, or be willing to work towards it
- Have experience working with children or young people in a care setting, though this is desirable rather than essential
- Be a strong communicator, able to build rapport and trust with young people and colleagues
- Be flexible and committed to supporting young people through evening, weekend, waking night, and sleep-in shifts
- Approach work with curiosity, courage, and kindness
- Hold a full UK driving licence (desirable)
